Why this comparison exists.
Three brands routinely sit next to Krützberg in the buying decision: Holdfast Gear in Oklahoma, Peak Design in San Francisco, Oberwerth in Koblenz. Each solves a different version of the same task. Most manufacturer pages assert themselves rather than compare. This page does not. It names materials, prices in euros, warranties in years — and leaves gaps open where public sources have no answer.

Why these systems sit side by side — and still mean different things.
Why Krützberg is a system.
On the Zeithalter DUO the load sits on the back through an X-back plate, not on the shoulders. GRIPLOCK seats in the tripod thread, not in the strap lug. Fittings in solid brass, adapter in stainless steel, carry in vegetable-tanned water buffalo leather. Insured through Gothaer. Three-year warranty. That is the whole idea: a carry system you stop noticing after the first hour.
What we deliberately do not have.
No glass-reinforced nylon fittings. No modular quick-connect mechanism like Peak Design. No US-bridle western look like Holdfast. The choice against modular plastic hardware is a deliberate one: fewer interfaces, a defined load path, a material that is allowed to age — instead of one that has to be replaced.
Where the other three are strong.
Holdfast Gear has owned the wedding-photographer harness category for over a decade — the double harness with chest connector is a refined, self-contained answer. Peak Design Slide is the benchmark for modular quick connectors; one strap, three carry modes, broad availability, a lifetime warranty on function. Oberwerth sits in the Leica orbit — vegetable-tanned leather, rhubarb-leather padding, handcraft in Koblenz. Who picks which system.
